To be honest, I’ve heard so many different things on this topic, I start to wonder if it’s more guesswork than any actual science. Still, this infographic is a great starting point, and offers a lot of data, if you’re wondering when you should put up a post on social media sites! And let’s not kid ourselves, technology is now a part of our daily lifestyle, so you need to know the rules.

For both Facebook and Twitter it’s best to post sometime in the afternoon. Facebook’s peak time is Wednesday at 3pm, while Twitter sees a lot of traffic Monday through Thursday. And it’s a bad idea to post on either during the weekend. In fact, with Twitter, you should avoid posting after 3pm on Friday, and wait it out till Monday!

Like Facebook, Pinterest attracts a lot of attention during the afternoon. The site also attracts a lot of people in the evening, from 8pm to 1am. The site must really draw in the night owls!

Linkedin is generally most active right before work begins, or right after it ends. That means you should post sometime between 7am and 9am, or sometime between 5pm to 6pm. Most likely, during these times people are just starting to work or winding down from a long day, and check Linkedin to see if there are any important messages.

So what if you want to post something in the morning? Are you out of luck? Turns out that Google+ is quite popular during the morning hours, and not so popular at night! So far Google+ seems to be taking on a professional atmosphere.

That’s a lot of interesting comparisons for these various sites, so make sure you home your social media strategy wisely. Anyways, check out this uber useful infographic by Social Caffeine!
