I’m Loving the Rainbow Cat [Infographic]

By

First off, I literally love the rainbow cat at the top of this oddball (but awesome!) infographic. But that raises a question, answered with this infographic by Nowsourcing, why do we love cats so much? And do they love us back? From the average house cat to the now famous Grumpy Cat, felines have drawn our fancy for centuries.

Cats have enjoyed a long multifaceted relationship with humanity. Back in ancient Egypt they were worshiped as demigods. But after a bad turn of luck and poor publicity, by the Dark Ages cats became hated and regarded as evil.

Still, cats have become one of the most popular pets in the world. Yes, they often play villains in TV shows and movies, but people still love them for being cute, energetic, and easy to care for. Unlike their rival, the dog, most cats won’t beg for attention, but are glad to cuddle when wanted.

Well some people believe that cats are “cold” and “distant,” tests have proven that cats are affectionate and adore their masters. Consider this, one cat literally traveled from California to Florida (that’s 2,500 miles, so you know!) just to be reunited with his lost owners. And you can bet he didn’t have GPS or fly first class!

And then there’s Grumpy Cat. A literal superstar “Grumpy Cat” has built up a fan base that counts in the millions spread around the world. His website, grumpycats.com, gets over 1.5 million hits per month!
