Women love to shop, right? At least that is the common public perception. Turns out, however, that marketing to women online is no easy task and requires a lot of effort!

Marketing to women is extremely important as they make 80% of online purchase decisions. Shockingly, however, some 90% of women report that markets don’t really understand them.

Chances are that the marketers who figure out what women really want can make a heck of a lot of money!

Women are the majority of users on both Facebook and Twitter. On Facebook, 40 percent of women follow specific brands, while 25% follow brands on Twitter. Interestingly, only 51% of women will purchase from brands they follow on Facebook. 67% of women, however, will do so on Twitter.

18.5 percent of the time women spend online is on social media, while 7.7% of the time is spent on email. In terms of interest, health, apparel, and parenting are the three biggest. Women are less interested in pets, flowers, and fragrances.
