There’s a sad fact about being a man. You’re more likely to die young. That much I’ve always known and so it doesn’t surprise me that 105 male babies are born to 100 female babies. By the ages of 65 to 74, however, there are only 80 men to 100 women. So if you’re a guy, you might want to start playing it safe! And perhaps it’s time to visit the doctor and get a check up?
Some other things did surprise me. For example, I never
knew guys were 3 to 4 times more likely to be autistic. They are also 16x as likely to be color blind and 2x as likely to suffering hearing loss.
60 percent of men in the United States are now obese, and 13 million suffer from diabetes. Those numbers are staggering! I admit, I am not a gym rat and don’t have a six pack, but I do try to watch my diet.
25.4 percent of men will die from cardiovascular disease, while 24.1 percent will die from cancer! Those numbers make me a bit worried to be honest.
So what can you do to improve your health? First, you should figure out how to do monthly exams and make sure you follow through and check frequently. Second, start eating right and exercising several times a day. If you smoke, quit.
