Hawaii, An Island of Sun and Fun [Infographic]

I’ve always wanted to visit Hawaii, but unfortunately this festive infographic is the closest I have gotten so far! And given that some 7.3 million people visit Hawaii every year, I am obviously not alone in my desires! Check out this infographic to learn more!

Ever wonder where the term Luau came from?

Originated in 1819, when Kamehameha II hosted a feast for both men and women- a forbidden practice.

Interestingly, many of the festivities in Hawaii take place in the fall! That’s great for tourist because I bet a lot of them are trying to stave off autumn and winter blues, and there’s probably no better cure than a few days laying on Hawaii’s sandy beaches!

There’s plenty to do in Hawaii too! You can visit Chinatown, established by Chinese migrants in the mid 19th century, or you can head out to the beautiful parks and beaches spread across the islands.

You can also check out the world’s 4th tallest waterfall, or explore a 100,000 year old crater! And of course, there’s Hawaii’s famous volcanoes, some of the only active ones in the world!

And if you love being in the water, Hawaii has plenty of options. You can go whale watching and see some of the sea’s most majestic beasts. Or you can get close and personal with a snorkeling or diving session!

And of course you can engage in the official sport of Hawaii, surfing! Long known as the world’s surf capital, you can be sure that Hawaii will live up to its reputation.

So check out this festive infographic!
