If you pay attention to mobile marketing, then you have most likely heard of both mobile apps and mobile websites. With smartphones and other tablets on the rise, mobile technology optimized marketing efforts are now essential!
With all mobile marketing experiences the basic idea is to create a mobile marketing optimized brand experience to attract customers and increase conversion rates with the aim of increasing brand loyalty.
But that doesn’t answer the question of whether you should use a mobile site or a mobile app? There are a lot of things to consider when deciding between the two.
For one, what does your budget and time line look like? If you are on a limited budget and want to get your marketing campaign going now, a mobile site is probably the best choice. They are easier and cheaper to build and maintain.
If you have some money to throw around, you should probably look at an app. Apps get expensive because you will have to build one for each OS. Not only that, but if you update your app, you will have to resubmit it for approval. Plus development costs can be higher. Still, they are very effective.
And of course, if you have a big budget, you could do both a mobile site and a mobile app.
At the end of the day, a mobile site offers a great chance to deliver content to users with a “nimble” experience. A mobile app allows you to deliver a highly customized and interactive experience.
