Get Your Grill On [Infographic]

By

I love grilled food. Like many Americans, grilling is my favorite way to cook food. Yes, grilling can be messy and time consuming but the results are very tasty. Anyways, this infographic offers a lot of helpful insights into how to cook your food right.

Pork should generally be cooked to about 155 degrees (Fahrenheit), while poultry needs to be cooked to at least 165 degrees.

You can cook beef to a lot of different temperatures, depending upon your tastes. Like your beef on the rarer side? Cook it to 135 degrees. Want it a bit crispy? Cook it to 155 degrees. If you are cooking ground beef, however, make sure you cook it to at least 160 degrees.

Lamb and fish should both be grilled to about 145 degrees. If you want your vegetables to be soft, grill them at a lower temperature. If you want them to be firm, crank the heat up! Pizza should be cooked on a stone, and cook your pizza by itself.

So where do you place the meat on the grill? If it’s a sturdy meat, like lamb or beef, put it right in the center of the grill. This way it will receive direct heat. If it is a delicate meat, like fish or poultry, place it on the sides of the grill. This way it will get indirect heat.

Anyways there are some more helpful charts above in this kick ass infographic from Food Republic, so check them out!
