This kick ass infographic from Landl Automotive shows a really interesting timeline of the future of car technology. There can be no doubt that cars have come a long way since Ford started mass producing the Model T. Still, cars are going to continue to “evolve” in the future.
So what’s coming next? 2013 saw the emergence of distance control. Basically your car will make sure that it stays a certain distance from other cars. 2014 will see embedded 4G and Apple is even coming up with a way to integrate its operating system into your dashboard.
2015 should see the emergence of the hydrogen powered car. Japan is taking the lead on this front and expects to have 100 hydrogen gas stations up and running in the near future. 2016 should see electric cars improving greatly with the introduction of the smart battery.
And by 2017
there might even be self driving cars on the road! At least, that’s what Ford Motors is predicting. That would be a pretty revolutionary development in technology. Also, by 2018 radios may be all but dead as they become replaced by the internet.
