At first glance this action-packed infographic might not seem so “brief”, even despite its title! Still, the history of the caped hero is so rich and vast that even this infographic barely scratches on the surface!

So who is Superman? The infographic sums it up,

Since debuting in “Action Comics” in 1938 Superman has saved the world numerous times over. And while the Man of Steel is known now for being nearly limitless in power, initially he could “only” leap a mile and outrun a train. That’s fast, sure, but certainly not faster than a speeding bullet.

There’s a ton of interesting facts about Superman. For example, 1978 he boxed with Muhammad Ali (in a comic strip). In 1993 Superman met his demise at the hands of Doomsday but Superman got a bit of a consolation prize. That comic, Volume 2 Number 75 became the best selling comic of all time!

By 1948 there was already one live action film, and as the decades have proceeded, just about every generation has made their own version of the famed here. The next movie is set to launch this summer and so far has been generated tons of hype. He has also appeared in numerous cartoons and other animated pieces.
