A Look At the College Class of 2013 [Infographic]

1.8 million people will earn a bachelors degree in 2013 and many will be in need of a job. Luckily, employers are looking to hire about 13 percent more graduates than the year before. Still, since 2007, unemployment among recent grads has climbed from 5.8% to 8.8%. Check out the charts and graphs for more info!

If you are in software development, or one of the many engineering fields, you’re probably in good shape. Market research analysts, HR specialists, and other business related fields are also in high demand! Unsurprisingly, the Top Nine list for pay is very similar to the top ten list for demand. Engineers and computer specialists dominate the list. Check out the Top Ten charts above for more information!

Surprisingly, the best city for college graduates is apparently Atlanta, Georgia! Boston and Dallas as also looking good, along with Denver and Houston. Grads themselves, however, would prefer New York City, Washington DC, and Philadelphia. Too bad only D.C. makes the top ten list for best cities for grads. Check out the map above for more details!

The nature of the work and compensation are the first things grads look at. But as they get more serious with their examination, factors such as opportunities for personal growth and job security become more important. Friendliness of coworkers is important at both steps.

With 80 percent of college grads willing to move in order to find a job, look for people to be packing their suit cases and hitting the road!
