My mom is a nurse, and quite a few of my friends have gone on to be nurses and doctors, so I am quite familiar with the health care industry! One thing I haven’t really heard of, however, are travel nurses. So what are they about?

travel nursing offers an exciting opportunity
to build your career and add rich experiences to your life. Some ten thousand nurses decide to travel to hospitals and medical facilities outside their communities every week!

If you are considering a career in medicine, two of the most popular choices are being a nurse and a doctor. Yes, doctors make quite a bit more, $166,400 vs. $66,178 for a nurse. But keep in mind, Doctors work an average of 11 more hours per week.
Anyways, if you want to be a travel nurse, consider Ketchikan Hospital in Ketchikan Alaska. It’s a small hospital with only 54 beds, but allows nurses to travel and work closely with their patients. And if the wilderness (and snow) of Alaska doesn’t sound appealing, you can head to more temperate Washington and work at Seattle Children’s Hospital. Travel nurses here will get access to all the latest and greatest technology.
The Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin is another great choice. It is rated as a top employer by many organizations, including the Business Journal. Not only that, but the staff is focused entirely on children, so if you love working with kids, this might be the place to be!
There are a ton of other great travel hospitals from soliant, so check them out!
