Building A World Class Resume [Infographic]

Resumes are often your first chance to make an impression and gain that career of your dreams. Unfortunately, many people let silly little mistakes ruin their job prospects.

So what’s the most common CV mistake? Spelling errors, unfortunately. Make sure you proof your resume well, and have a friend read through it. Typos are another common

mistake. For example, you might want to say you graduated in 1998 but instead write 1898.

Also, a lot people fail to write in specifics. Get rid of the general statements and get down to details. Specifics provide concrete evidence of your performance and ability to contribute to a workplace environment.

And don’t leave out important information. Also, make sure your resume is visually friendly, with lots of white space and leave out the paragraphs. Also, don’t use CAP LOCKS, and skip the fancy paper, just use simple white paper. Hiring managers want to see clean, professional resumes.

Finally, keep out the lies and irrelevant info. Keep your resume focused and honest. After all, even if you could get a job through lying, would you really want to? And if you find yourself thrown into a job you’re not prepared for, you could create a lot of problems for yourself.

Finally, make sure you specifically mention why you want this job.

Anyways, this was a great infographic by Career Journey, though I wonder why they call these mistakes funny? They all seem pretty serious to me.
