I’ve worked some dirty jobs in my day, such as scrubbing dishes in a restaurant kitchen. Still, my experiences have nothing on the jobs listed in this down and dirty infographic. And I am going to guess that garbage collector won’t be making too many “dream career” lists.
Speaking of garbage collectors, you can collect nearly 28,000 pounds a year. Yeah, the job might not be too clean or good for your health, but the pay is decent enough, especially given that the job requires no college education.
And if you love animals, you could consider becoming a zoo keeper. They collect 30K a year for cleaning out animal pens and seeing after the various animals in the zoo. And there’s the fact that you get to hang out with some pretty exotic creatures.
If you’re willing to take on some risk, you can collect a bigger paycheck being a high rise window cleaner. A fair warning, however, this job isn’t for people who are afraid of
heights. You’ll be suspended mid air with your cleaning equipment and trust me, you’ll feel every breeze.
You can also earn 40 grand a year as a sewage maintenance cleaner. I’ll let you check out the details from this kick ass infographic by Master Cleaners LTD, but at least part of the job means literally swimming through human excrements.
And if that doesn’t make you squeamish, you could also consider working as a portable potty collector, though you should be prepared for a 5,000 pound pay cut.
You could also head the mines and mine coal. That will net you about 35K per year, but the environment won’t exactly be good for your health, and you could even suffer from a condition called “black lung.” Basically, coal dust will make its way into your lungs and wreak havoc!
And last but not least, if you’re looking for a good paycheck, you could work as a crime scene cleaner. That pays about 60,000 pounds per year. Basically, you will be responsible for removing all the biohazards, such as blood, from a crime scene. Just thinking about it makes me shiver!
