Social media has become an important part of our life, and now it’s fair to ask if perhaps we have gone a bit too far. For example, now-a-days 2 in 3 people are afraid that they will miss out on something if they don’t monitor their social media networks. And I think we can all guess what that means, people become glued to their social media accounts.
In fact, 38 percent of people check their social media accounts before their email accounts when waking up. Me? I am the opposite, email first, professional working sites second, social media third. As a result, 3 in 5 people wish there was a way to streamline watching their email and social media accounts.
In fact, 40 percent of people report that they would rather wait in line at the Department of Motor Vehicles, or sit in traffic for four hours listening to polka music, than give up their social media accounts. Have you ever listened to polka music? Let me tell you, that’s a heavy price to pay!
Social media is certainly a powerful tool, but I think that moderation is important. How about you? How important is social media in your life? Would you rather give up email or social media for a day?
