The Best Ways to Reheat Grilled Food [Infographic]

By

I love grilling and prefer it to frying, baking, and just about every other form of cooking. The charcoals simply add more flavor.

Still, I usually try to cook only as much as I can heat, because I have never had any good luck with reheating grilled food. Well, maybe that’s because I didn’t have this infographic!

For example, if you cooked up a juicy steak last night the best way to reheat it is to cut it in slices, then use a skillet and a touch of butter. Burgers and sausages on the other hand, should be reheated in hot water. I never would have thought of that!

Chicken, ribs, vegetables, and fish should all be reheated in the oven. With ribs you’ll want to reapply a layer of any sauce you used, or consider adding some bbq sauce to spice it up.

Chicken, on the other hand, is best treated with a touch of olive oil to make sure it stays moist. And use foil with both veggies and fish.

So what about shellfish?

“Don’t reheat shell fish under any circumstances ; it turns to rubber. Bring to room temperature naturally or eat chilled as an appetizer.”

And you know what was never mentioned on this list? The microwave! Thanks Foodrepublic.com for all of the tips in this kickass infographic!
