This website is all about infographics, but that raises the question, what is an infographic? Most people recognize an infographic when they see one, but what is the “genetic code” that really makes something an infographic?

The three main elements of an infographic are its visual design, content, and knowledge. So that means you need to have pictures, charts, or other visuals. You also need to have some written words but most importantly, it all has to reflect “knowledge.”

Infographics are great because they are engaging, and they present a lot of information in a short amount of time. Given that a viewer often leaves a webpage in 10 to 20 seconds, it is essential to present them with a lot of useful knowledge quickly.

It turns out that 60 percent of people are visual learners, and given that infographics are visual tools, that’s a great statistic to keep in mind. In fact, visual information is processed by the brain 60,000 times faster than than text.

So what does this all add up to? Publishers that utilize infographics see a growth in web traffic by up to 12 percent! In a cut throat online world, those stats are huge!
